With the business takeover at Auto Galliker in Kriens, the desire arose to create a new membrane roofing for the Autoarena. However, such a roof was already in place, so the initial consideration was to give the old membrane roof a thorough wash and then rebuild it.
However, due to the condition of the old roofing, HP Gasser AG, together with the client, decided otherwise. Based on the planning documents from 1997, a new membrane roofing was to be created, as the old one would have looked far less attractive even after extensive washing and cleaning.

Success always has many parents. So the saying goes. One of these success guarantors could also be the special character. Clear statements, thorough considerations in the interest of the customer and always like aiming to create the best belong to such a clear character, which HP Gasser AG also shows. And this strong character is shown by the membrane builders from Lungern/Obwalden already since the existence of the membrane construction division.
Fast exchange in a short period of time
It took the experts from HP Gasser AG a total of just two weeks to replace the old membrane roofing of the Autoarena for Auto Galliker. At the beginning, as always, there was extremely precise planning and preparation as the most important prerequisite for the success of the project.
Then everything actually went quite quickly. The planning documents from 1997 were taken and adapted to the current conditions. Then the old membrane had to be removed and disposed of. The next step was to install a new membrane covering a total area of 2,100 square meters. Of course, this first had to be prefabricated in the Lungern factory to the exact dimensions required. But this work step was also carefully considered in an overall concept, so that no unnecessary delays occurred in the assembly on site.
The entire operation took a total of only two weeks, which is a very remarkably short duration for a project of this size. In this time, all the work steps were done to replace the old roofing with the new membrane roofing. And this one meets the latest standards for membrane roofing and also shows the full strength of modern roofing made of durable, weatherproof membranes, which can be processed in almost any shape, when it comes to the choice of materials.
At the CUBO in Altdorf (UR), HP Gasser AG shows how perfect the cooperation with the construction parties can go
Some people have concerns about complex building projects. Even when it comes to new buildings, doubts about the interaction of the individual trades are just as central as the concern that in the end the results of the construction work will not be coherent after all. Those who work with HP Gasser AG from Lungern (OW), on the other hand, can look forward to perfect results in advance. And there are good reasons for this.
The example of the CUBO in Altdorf is a good illustration of how perfect interaction between all those involved leads to equally perfect results. The task here was to install a large window element in a flat roof without having to work with enormous support structures. In cooperation with the architect, the flat roof company and the electrical company, we succeeded in finding a solution that could implement all requirements equally.
The slim construction of the beams was included in the planning as well as the clarity of a new office building, which should not be overloaded with too many architectural details. At the end of the joint work, HP Gasser AG prepared and installed a fixed glazing with NRWA (Natural Smoke and Heat Exhaust Ventilation System), which takes into account all conditions and wishes in an excellent way. The rather fine girders of the roof construction as well as the completely tight connection to the flat roof and of course also the optical and functional requirements.
The clear architecture of the new office building now convinces in three basic materials: glass, concrete and wood. In the process, HP Gasser AG also executed the complete interior cladding of the roof window element and the surrounding beams with oak wood, thus delivering a performance that is high-quality in practically every detail.
In addition to the purely technical services, the cooperation with the architect, the flat roof company and the electrical installation company also worked excellently in this project, which ultimately led to a great result. Everything was prepared, delivered, installed and finished ready for installation in a carefree package that is exemplary for the efficiency of the roof window element construction of HP Gasser AG. Even with demanding buildings and special projects, there is no reason to doubt or have concerns about the results when working with HP Gasser AG. This was impressively demonstrated by the excellent solution found at the CUBO in Altdorf. And in countless other buildings and individual projects, the roof window element construction of HP Gasser AG also shows that it definitely has what it takes to find and successfully implement even the most demanding solutions.
For Zünd Systemtechnik AG, HP Gasser AG has implemented a dream solution
Zünd Systemtechnik AG from Altstätten is one of the leading manufacturers of cutting plotters for use with a wide variety of materials. Foils, other plastics, wood, metals and aluminum can be conveniently processed with the cutting plotters from Zünd Systemtechnik AG.
For the complete flat roof waterproofing and the installation of modern and durable roof window elements, the company commissioned Räss AG as the construction company.
One of the tasks was to install shed roof windows in the new flat roof to be sealed. Räss AG approached us with this partial order. We then held detailed discussions with the client about what could be the best solution for the lighting and shading of the offices under the flat roof. In the process, several variants and options were shortlisted. Special cubic roof structures with an external shading system was also an option that seemed quite interesting.
The most suitable solution turned out to be a very practical and relatively easy to implement one that fully met the client’s wishes: Here, the glazed roof window assemblies are aligned in such a way that direct sunlight into the office rooms below is avoided. This reduces unwanted heating in summer, but also ensures that the rooms always have good daylight.
The clients were very enthusiastic about this solution and were quickly convinced that the assemblers of HP Gasser AG were the best partners for the execution of these services. And so, in April 2020, one of our assemblers then also carried out the installation of the shed roof window constructions. Even he was enthusiastic about the simple feasibility of the undertaking thanks to the largely prefabricated components and is already looking forward to a possible further construction phase.
The result is a thoroughly attractive and functional solution that, due to its special orientation and construction, even offers space for the installation of a photovoltaic system.
