The weightless domes of HP Gasser span large areas without supports. A slight overpressure inside the hall supports the membrane roof. Air domes can be used permanently or seasonally and thus transform a summer tennis court into a room for winter rallies.

Good energy balance
The article from «Nachhaltiges Bauen Schweiz 2024» classifies the air dome as a green opportunity for tennis. In collaboration with the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture, a study was elaborated that compares the environmental impact of the air dome with a massive tennis hall over around four decades. The article describes how and why an air dome is worthwhile.
