The interest was great and the discussions animated: The airdome day of HP Gasser AG in Wohlen was a complete success. Around 30 people took a close look at the new panorama hall of the TC Wohlen on March 22 – an innovative construction from HP Gasser. It captivates by the built-in window row made of transparent ETFE foil. This does not change the characteristics of an airdome, but it does open up new views and vistas for spectators and indoor athletes. Our membrane construction specialists provided all the necessary information on site. This also included tips and tricks for reducing the operating costs of airdomes. The visitors were particularly interested in the modern heating/ventilation system, which can be controlled remotely. During lunch and later at afternoon coffee, there was enough time to answer individual questions and to exchange ideas.
In 1999, Hanspeter Gasser had the opportunity to take over the membrane division of Sarnafil AG. With Sepp Imfeld and Toni Halter, who had previously managed Sarna-Tent, the start under a new flag was achieved in May 1999. The aim of HP Gasser AG was to build up a third pillar in addition to roof window element construction and carpentry and to broaden the company’s base. It was a daring decision, but the entrepreneurial risk was rewarded. Today, the membrane construction department is an important and internationally active branch of HP Gasser AG. We can be proud of this.
The community of Rothenbrunnen in Domleschg, with its 300 inhabitants, is home to the largest fish breeding facility in the canton of Graubünden. Its centerpiece is the covered pond facility with three flow channels, which offers the best conditions for breeding and keeping stocked fish. Not least thanks to the current, the brown trout, lake trout and rainbow trout remain in motion and thus fit for their later release in Grisons’ watercourses and lakes. Not entirely innocent of the success of the cantonal fish farm is the membrane roofing by HP Gasser AG from Lungern: This protects the fish from excessive heating of the water, but also from ultraviolet radiation and thus from algae infestation and natural enemies. The maintenance of the pools has also been simplified. Without a roof, they had to be regularly drained and cleaned – a workload of several weeks that is now eliminated.
The PVC membrane roofing was originally an exotic proposal – especially for the alpine region of Graubünden – but it turned out to be the best solution due to the special requirements. This was because the roof of the fish farm had to be both translucent and lightweight, as well as being able to span a large distance. Within a construction period of only four weeks, the outdoor pools were finally spanned on an arch-shaped steel structure with nine membrane fields (1800m2 unwinding surface). The membrane builders of HP Gasser AG from Obwalden were also responsible for the development of the aluminum keder rails that connect the membrane and the steel structure. Material and construction have proven themselves very well: The fish are doing well and the fisheries supervisor is delighted.
With immediate effect, Stefan Reinhard, our own instruction and service technician, is on the road for our customers. HP Gasser AG thus invests in customer satisfaction and is also competently available to you after the sale. The 41-year-old Melchtaler trains especially new customers around the installation of ordered roof window elements. This ensures that our products are also installed in our sense – especially for special elements that are rarely used. The creation of the new position also favors a more flexible and independent organization of service work. In the case of Velux and red-roof windows, these will now be offered independently of the manufacturer after the warranty has expired.
