The symposium at the University of St. Gallen is one of the world’s leading intergenerational conferences. Every year at the beginning of May, young and old debate economic, political and social developments here. To ensure that the leaders of today and tomorrow can exchange ideas in the dry, HP Gasser AG has been covering the meeting zone on the campus since 2011. Four customized HPG Memstruc® structures are used, which are stored in Lungern throughout the year and only assembled in St. Gallen shortly before the symposium: It takes four assemblers 1.5 weeks each to assemble and then dismantle the 1,544 m2 membrane roofing. Both school operations and the listed building envelope have to be taken into account – a challenge for true professionals.

In Kriens, moving house was recently on the agenda. The first residents have taken possession of the modern apartment building at Obernaustrasse 28. You notice it as soon as you enter: Here, special attention was paid to the ambience. “Warm” oak wood meets “cold” exposed concrete: in the doors, the railings, the windows. The wood cladding gives the staircase a pleasant homeliness. And this is exactly what HP Gasser AG contributed to: aesthetic wooden panels divide the 2.5 x 2.5 m rooflight into nine squares and lend sophistication to the simple room. Even the frame of the HPG roof window above is in oak. The living area thus already begins in the stairwell, at least it feels that way.

They do exist, but ateliers in the basement are rather rare. There is an obvious reason for this: the lack of daylight reduces the quality of living. HP Gasser AG recently had to find a solution to this problem in Worb near Bern: The two new rooflights were installed within a day. The access to the underground garage of the residential building could not be blocked any longer. And only from there was it possible to hoist the 6 x 1 m and 1200 kg HPG oecoline vario® flat roof elements to their destination: directly above the client’s basement living and office space. In addition to daylight, the side ventilation flaps also provide a supply of fresh air. And thanks to satinized triple glazing, even privacy is maintained.
