The FEBA company in Kägiswil manufactures window sills and facade components. The company’s employees need good lighting conditions in their work areas. HP Gasser AG was allowed to design and install two rooflights for the flat roof of the new company building. As a template, ridge elements consisting of approx. 40 individual glasses each with a metal substructure were envisaged. This would have resulted in a construction time on site of several days. Our solution included two elements about 15 meters long, each with 15 VELUX® Modular Skylight modules. The modules are mounted on the proven HPG insulating frame made of wood, which is much lighter and thermally superior to the planned steel construction. Another advantage is that the two elements were prefabricated and delivered as finished components. At our plant in Lungern, we are able to manufacture elements of this dimension regardless of the weather. Special transport and a crane were organized to transport the elements, which weighed around four tons and were 15 meters long. The assembly of the ready-prepared elements could be implemented within two hours to the full satisfaction of our customer.
